THANK YOU!!! This year was an amazing year for our program. I just got off the phone with Matty; as he and I tried to list all of the great times we had this year we lost count. He says that the recordings we made last month sound terrific. A musician friend of his walked into the house while he was doing some of the mixing and she wanted to know what CD he was listening to. You folks are great klezmorim and together we make quite a beautiful noise. Its exciting to imagine how much happiness our music might bring to people next year when our CD is complete. It’s also very gratifying to look back on this past year and reflect on how many people were touched this past school-year by the music we make.
…and then there was the parade! I know that some of the emails that were sent to me the past couple of days regarding the parade were also sent to you. I also know that I received many messages that did not make it to your computers. Unfortunately, these emails were so numerous that I quickly lost track of which ones were sent just to me and which ones were sent to the whole band so I’ve decided not to clog your in boxes with everything that I’ve received. Suffice it to say that every email I received raved about how great you sounded and about how much you added to the experience for everyone involved. Many of these messages weren’t even originally intended for my eyes, but were instead forwarded to me by other folks discussing the parade amongst themselves. Like it, or not, the powers that be have already signed us up for next year’s parade.
I know that I also speak for Matty when I say, thank you so much for being part of our program and thank you for being part of our lives. We hope that this summer brings all of you what just what you are looking for and we hope that next school-year when Matty and I are looking for you we find each of you with instrument in hand waiting to join us all for the first downbeat of the ’10-’11 school-year.
